Joe Biden has continued to quote the founder of Communist China, Mao Zedong, which is stirring further concerns of his sympathies toward Beijing.

“As that old expression goes, woman hold up half the sky,” he stated during an interview with ABC. “And in order to be able to succeed, you’ve got to be dealt in across the board.”

This phrase was originally used by Chairman Mao in 1973 when he said, “whatever men comrades can accomplish, women comrades can too…women hold up half the sky.” Mao was talking about gender equality in Communist China and Biden hasBEEN  using that quote in a similar push for social justice in the U.S.

“Some people think the socialist system is creating a paradise on earth,” noted Justin Yu, the nephew of exiled Chinese Cardinal Yu Pin. “Actually, it’s not. We can see every country which practices socialism and are communist are, in fact, in very bad shape and the people are suffering.”

Biden has quoted Mao in public speeches and interviews at least three times since last year. These instances include a fundraiser with Valerie Jarrett last July, the appointment of Kamala Harris as his running mate that August and a speech before military cadets this May.
